DMA’S are going to embark on their biggest headline tour of their home country to date this year.
The indie rock trio will perform 16 times around Australia throughout September and October, including headlining some regional centres for the very first time (see full dates below). Tickets go on sale to the general public on Thursday, March 16th at 10am local time. The Frontier Touring and Secret Sounds Members pre-sales begin on Tuesday, March 14th at 12pm local time.
The tour is in support of the band’s forthcoming fourth studio album, How Many Dreams?. It’s the eagerly-awaited follow-up to the band’s 2020 album The Glow, which reached number two on the ARIA Albums Chart. According to the band’s Johnny Took, their new album actually felt like a “first outing” for the trio so deep into their career.
“Our palette for this album was a lot broader because we’ve learned so much since our debut and we’ve listened to so much more music between then and now, which has shaped us,” he said. “The excitement was the same.”
DMA’S have previewed their album with several impressively varied singles, including electropop cut “Something We Are Overcoming”, the rousing “Olympia”, and “Everybody’s Saying Thursday’s the Weekend”, the latter of which was nominated for Radio X’s Record of the Year last year.
