Auckland’s Cross Street Music Festival is back, bringing a laneway street party with a fully Kiwi lineup.

The annual block party returns to its namesake street in Tāmaki Makaurau on Saturday, March 8, 2025.

The first nine acts have been announced, with more artists to be revealed in the coming weeks.

Topping the bill is Persian-Kiwi artist CHAII, whose debut album Safar landed at number 11 on Rolling Stone New Zealand’s Best Albums of the Year list.

Joining her is Auckland alternative hip-hop artist WHO SHOT SCOTT, who kept the energy high throughout 2024 with his signature hard-hitting singles.

Wellington’s Sea Mouse is set to deliver blues-soaked rock ‘n’ roll, while indie-pop fans can look forward to performances from duo Lips and Blake.

Caru and Brandn Shiraz will join forces for a special set blending UK Garage with Aotearoa’s hip-hop flavor.

Rounding out the first drop are Auckland DJ Little Bok Choy, five-piece Mammalien, and dance artist Ardon England.

The 2025 festival theme is ‘Out Of This World,’ described as an “invitation to bring your dramatic sense of unfashion, whatever goes, amplify your style for the ultimate out of this world experience.”

“Our crew are pumped to be returning for another year of new and exciting music from upcoming Kiwi artists. Can’t wait for a night filled with a lineup that represents Tāmaki’s fresh and diverse talent. It’s gonna be one ‘Out of this World’ party” Come dressed for the ultimate experience!” says festival organiser Anya Vitali.

Last year’s edition saw Princess Chelsea headline,  joined on the bill by dream-fuzz band Mirror Ritual, Balu Brigada, local electronic producer deepSTATE, and more.

Tickets to the festival are available via the official website.
