Cross St Music Festival has unveiled its initial 2024 lineup.
The annual block party heads to the titular Tāmaki Makaurau street on Saturday, March 9th 2024.
A wealth of established artists and up-and-comers have been announced for next year’s edition, led by art-pop star Princess Chelsea (read her recent Rolling Stone AU/NZ interview here).
She’s joined on the bill by dream-fuzz band Mirror Ritual, who impressed at The Others Way last year, Junior Junior, who released their debut EP, In the Light, last month, local electronic producer deepSTATE, and more.
You can view the full first lineup below. More artists are also set to be announced over the coming months. Interested acts can still register their interest here (all skill levels and experience are welcome).
Established in 2018, Cross St Music Festival provides a platform for local artists to showcase their music in the heart of Auckland, just a stone’s throw from Karangahape Road.
“Cross St was a perfect backdrop in being historically home to the eclectic and diverse natures. An area rich in stories of debauchery, the redlight district and raucous house parties of notorious musical gatherings. We aspire to set this energy alight with a 100% NZ showcase that is humbling as a laneway block party,” the festival’s bio reads.
“This annual event not only showcases our immense local talent but also brings together artists and musicians from diverse backgrounds, enriching our cultural landscape. It is a coming together for our community to celebrate our shared love for the arts, bridge cultural gaps, fostering unity and a sense of belonging.
Earlybird tickets to the festival are available now via the official website.
