Legendary music photographer Chris Cuffaro is doing his bit to mark NZ Music Month by raising money for charity.
Cuffaro has compiled a photography exhibition featuring new and iconic Kiwi musicians, including Tiki Taane, Muroki, Don McGlashan, Reb Fountain, Theia, Tami Neilson, Fat Freddy’s Drop and many more.
The exhibition will be shown digitally at various public libraries around the country, including at Auckland Central Library and Ellen Melville Centre. You can check out the full list of venues here, while Cuffaro’s collection will also be shown at Auckland Live Digital Stage in Aotea Square once per hour on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays (12pm-8pm). They will also feature in the September magazine issue of Rolling Stone AU/NZ.
Special signed photographic images will be available via Webbs Auction House, with all proceeds going to MusicHelps, a charity that uses the power of music to change the lives of thousands of Kiwis in need.
The physical works will be on display for the 10 days of the online auction at Art News Aotearoa (see full details below). Admission is completely free and keepsake postcards and merchandise of some images will be available from ChrisCuffaroNZ.com and MusicHelps.org.nz.
For over three decades, Chris Cuffaro has been one of the foremost music photographers of his generation. Still not slowing down after over 30 years at the top of his field, you can keep up with Cuffaro’s current life and work via his Instagram and Facebook. In February, Cuffaro recently showed an exhibition of his work in New Zealand for the first time.
