Charli XCX and Lorde have performed “Girl, So Confusing” live together — again.
Aotearoa New Zealand’s pop superstar joined Charli at Lollapalooza 2026 in Chicago, US, where they both feature on the stacked festival bill.

It’s far from the first time the pair have linked up to play the remix live. Last October, Charli acted as surprise guest during Lorde’s world tour stop at Los Angeles’ Kia Forum. Lorde gave the crowd a clue that time about what was coming when she wrote the word “Girl” and underlined it on the palm of her hand.
They also previously performed it at last year’s Coachella, as well as during Charli’s co-headlining tour with Troye Sivan in 2024.
Charli’s Lollapalooza set closely follows the release of her new album, Music, Fashion, Film, which has been earning rave reviews from critics.
“Over 10 succinct songs (and a comparatively sprawling closer), Charli and her writing and producing partners A.G. Cook and Finn Keane dissect the stardom she hates to love and loves to hate,” Rolling Stone wrote in a 4/5 review.
“[…] the majority of the album is focused on the machinery that brings stars to life, with nods to the Velvet Underground, a band that was famously nurtured by a man who knew a little something about that. ‘Camera’ glimpses the future Charli could build in the movie industry, turning a few quick-strummed notes into an ode to the thrill of a new ambition. The following track, ‘2007’, gazes back to the very beginning, when she was first in ‘heaven,’ creating her own image in her bedroom and blasting it into the world with no outside intervention. Seduced by that beautiful simplicity, Charli’s digitally clipped voice cuts through the noise: ‘You’re the way I wanna feel/Wanna feel it really bad.'”
Lorde, meanwhile, is in the running for a major award back home.
She’s amongst the finalists for the 2026 APRA Silver Scroll Award | Kaitito Kaiaka, nominated for Virgin track “David”, which she co-wrote with James Stack.
