Iconic indie-folk band Bon Iver are returning to Australia for their first tour of the country since 2009.
In February and March of next year, Justin Vernon and co. will bring their unforgettable live performance to Sydney, Brisbane, and Melbourne. They’ll also play at several festivals while in the country, including WOMADelaide (see full dates below).
The Sydney show will be Bon Iver’s first time in the city following their four sold-out headline shows at the Sydney Opera House for VIVID Live in 2016, while it will be their first performances in Brisbane and Melbourne in 11 years.
Tickets for the tour go on sale to the general public on Friday, August 26th at 9am local time. Presale begins on Thursday, August 25th at 9am local time. With Bon Iver’s last Australian tour selling out in just over 48 hours before it was cancelled due to COVID-19, tickets for their upcoming tour are expected to sell quickly again.
After first emerging in 2008 with the masterful For Emma, Forever Ago, Bon Iver have been one of the most acclaimed acts of the last two decades, with Vernon rightly hailed as one of the greatest songwriters of his generation.
Their last three albums have reached the Top 10 of the ARIA Albums Chart, with 2011’s self-titled album also being certified platinum in Australia. Bon Iver’s last album, I, I, was released in 2019, earning four nominations at the 2020 Grammy Awards, including Album of the Year.
