One month on from unveiling a run of dates for acts on the festival’s 2020 lineup, Bluesfest Touring have now shared details regarding the rescheduled tour for the Marcus King Band.

Originally, the Australian tour from the Marcus King Band set to take part in the 2020 edition of Bluesfest, which was unfortunately cancelled just weeks out from kick-off due to COVID-related restrictions placed upon mass gatherings. Only weeks after the festival would’ve taken place, rescheduled 2021 dates for these artists were announced, with the 2021 lineup following just a couple of months later.

Just last month, a raft of Australian tours from these artists were unveiled, including shows from the likes of Patti Smith, George Benson, Larkin Poe, and The Wailers, while a handful – including dates from LP and Morcheeba – were set to be revealed later.

Now, organisers have revealed that the Marcus King Band will appear in Australia in April of 2022, with a pair of shows set to take place in Melbourne and Sydney. Having last released a new record by way of 2018’s Carolina Confessions, these Australian shows will be the band’s first since 2019, when they appeared at that year’s edition of Bluesfest.

However, while news of the Marcus King Band is indeed positive, organisers have revealed that the previously-postponed dates from LP have now been cancelled, with refunds set to arrive to ticket-holders shortly.

“We are sad to advise that due to the ongoing COVID challenges for touring, the LP tour of Australia has had to be cancelled and refunds are now occurring,” a statement read. “LP hopes to tour Australia as soon as she can, and we hope to present her at Bluesfest and on tour, however at this time there isn’t a future tour with dates planned….stay tuned.”

Despite this, tour dates from Morcheeba are set to arrive soon, with tickets to the Marcus King Band’s upcoming tour on sale now.
