Bliss n Eso have returned with new single “Not Today”, an anthemic ode to standing up for yourself and never backing down.

Combining their usual blistering raps with infectious production, the hip-hop trio premiered “Not Today” for the first time onstage earlier this year, with the crowd immediately approving of the new track.

Co-produced by the group alongside Jon Reichardt (360, Illy, Drapht), it’s comically playful at times – there’s a reference to DJ Khaled and one of his signature sayings – but, most importantly, it retains a hyped-up sense of hopefulness.

“”Not Today” is all about the little guy standing up to Goliath,” Bliss n Eso explain. “If you get knocked down, you get back up and keep going. You keep striving no matter what the adversity you have in front of you. You show em that no one can mess with you and where you are going, NOT TODAY.”

“Not Today” follows last year’s album The Sun, which featured huge collaborations with the likes of Dizzee Rascal, ChillinIT, and Kasey Chambers. The album was yet another commercial hit for the group, reaching number two on the ARIA Albums Chart.

That made it their fourth consecutive album to make it to the top two spots in the Albums Chart. The Sun was the follow-up to 2017’s critically-acclaimed Off The Grid, which topped the ARIA Albums Chart and was certified gold.

Bliss n Eso recently completed a mammoth metro and regional Australian tour, taking in over 20 dates around the country.

Last month, they also performed a special one-off show with the 35-piece Brisbane Symphony Orchestra, with Reichardt responsible for rejigging tracks from the group’s classic albums Flying Colours (2008), Running on Air (2010), Circus in the Sky (2013), Off the Grid (2017), and The Sun (2021). The sold-out show was, in Bliss n Eso’s own words, “one of the most incredible shows of our entire career.”
