BIG NOTER have recruited Idles frontman Joe Talbot for their latest single, “BIG NOTER”, the newest taste of their forthcoming debut album, Songs In The Key Of Wrestling.
Fronted by Yorta Yorta artist Briggs, BIG NOTER channel frustration into a volatile collision of hardcore, punk and metal, delivered with the same directness and conviction that has made Briggs one of Australia’s most respected voices.
Their eponymously named single turns that force towards inflated egos, empty posturing and the neighbourhood bully who mistakes intimidation for personality. Driven by explosive guitars and a filthy low-end groove, the track is given an additional dose of venom by Talbot’s ferocious guest appearance.
“This self-titled song paints the picture of the ultimate punish of an individual,” Briggs said. “It’s the neighbourhood bully’s anthem. It’s completely satirical; it bears no resemblance to any person you, Joe or I know.”
“BIG NOTER” is the latest preview of Songs In The Key Of Wrestling, which arrives September 18th through Island Records Australia. It follows previous single “F.M.D.”, released in June.
Produced by Nick Didia, whose credits include Rage Against the Machine and Pearl Jam, the band’s debut album confronts uncomfortable truths surrounding First Nations identity, mental health, racism, genocide and incarceration.
Talbot is just one of the iconic guests appearing across the record, alongside Public Enemy’s Chuck D and Rage Against the Machine guitarist Tom Morello. BIG NOTER got to open for Morello during his Australian shows in 2025.

With Songs In The Key Of Wrestling nearing release, BIG NOTER will also head out for three headline shows. The run begins with Brisbane and Sydney Crowbar dates next week, before wrapping up at Melbourne’s The Tote on September 19th.
