British rock icons Arctic Monkeys are returning to Australia next year to play three huge outdoor shows.
Four years on from their last run of shows in the country, the Sheffield four-piece will perform at Melbourne’s Sidney Myer Music Bowl, Brisbane’s Riverstage, and Sydney’s The Domain in January 2023.
With their last world tour for their sixth studio album, Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino, selling over 600,000 tickets, demand should be high for Alex Turner, Jamie Cook, Matt Helders, and Nick O’Malley’s return.
Before coming to Australia, the band will headline festivals around the world, including Reading and Leeds, Primavera Sound, Electric Picnic, and Rock En Seine. They’re also set to perform at Australia’s Lost Paradise, Falls Festival, and Heaps Good to see in the new year.
The band will be supported in by psychedelic jazz group Mildlife in Brisbane and Melbourne, while the Sydney show will have two support acts in hometown heroes DMA’s and alternative rockers The Buoys.
Arctic Monkeys released Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino in 2018, their last album to date. A noticeable sonic departure for the band, it topped charts around the world, including reaching number one on the ARIA Albums Chart.
