Aotearoa singer-songwriter Jude Kelly is back with her latest single, “Siren Song,” an intoxicating and brooding reflection on the magnetic pull of chaos.

Infused with Kelly’s signature mix of soulful pop and folk-tinged storytelling, the track draws listeners into a haunting, dreamlike world where danger and desire blur into one.

“Siren Song” plays out like a fever dream, its hypnotic melodies luring you in before unraveling into a whirlwind of emotional turmoil. “Oh Alice did you find your way / Did the rabbit take your name?” Kelly sings, invoking a surreal, almost mythical descent into uncertainty.

The track explores that all-too-familiar state of being drawn to self-destruction despite knowing better—a moment of surrender wrapped in shimmering production and atmospheric tension.

Speaking on the track, Kelly explains, “‘Siren Song’ is a state of turmoil induced by the uncertainty of choice in life, whilst being stuck in an episode of Euphoria. ‘What the fuck are we doing?’ – a question that can drive us to insanity with a glittery twist.”

Born in Dunedin and now based in Auckland, Kelly has been crafting deeply introspective music for years, drawing comparisons to artists like Lana Del Rey, Maggie Rogers, and HAIM.

Raised as the youngest of five children by two pastors, she left home at 15, turning to songwriting as a way to navigate questions of identity, faith, and selfhood. Her music is an open diary—unfiltered, vulnerable, and wrapped in cinematic soundscapes that transport listeners to the heart of her world.

“Siren Song” follows her 2023 debut, “Bonnet Bunny,” an Americana-infused anthem of friendship that established Kelly as one to watch.

After closing out last year with a sold-out headline show in Auckland and a coveted slot at Rhythm and Vines, she’s stepping into 2025 with newfound momentum and a promise of more music to come.
