If you’re around Inner Melbourne tonight (July 24th), there’s an unmissable event happening.
Much-loved Collingwood venue Smith St Hotel is reopening its doors with a massive three-day party, featuring some of the best bands in the country: Eggy, Cool Sounds, Bananagun, and many more.
Fresh from featuring in our Future of Music series this year, chosen as one of 25 ANZ acts we’re excited about for 2026 and beyond, Mouseatouille will take to the Smith St Hotel stage 10:20pm tonight. “We’ll be playing this with some new songs,” they teased on Instagram earlier this month.

To celebrate their Future of Music inclusion, Mouseatouille performed a stunning, sprawling In My Room session, which you can watch in full below.
“We are grateful to be included in the Future of Music series. Making and performing music is something we usually do insularly, focusing solely on what is exciting to us as a band. It is always nice to feel as though our music is resonating with others,” they told us in an exclusive interview for the series.
In the same interview, they told us about a career highlight so far. “Touring the country with our friends or playing Meredith. It is amazing to perform in front of people and see them connect with what we are doing. Everything we do feels exciting because we are doing it together.”

They also looked to the future, teasing that they’re “currently working on our next album.”

We named the exciting Melbourne ensemble’s DJ Set as one of the best Australian albums of 2025.
“They effortlessly flit between delicate indie-folk and chaotic noise-rock on ‘DJ Set’, throwing a number of instruments into the mixture, including violin, clarinet, synths, and guitars,” we wrote in praise of the band’s incredible album.
