Georgia Lines' Intros episode two with Frankie Venter

Georgia Lines’ popular music web series, INTROS, is being hosted on Rolling Stone AU/NZ for the first time this year.

The new series of INTROS features Lines sitting down with her favourite female and non-binary artists for a relaxed kōrero. Each episode focuses on the artist’s chosen song, delving into the story behind the song and the process of writing, before the artist will treat viewers to a live performance.

In the second episode of season three, Lines interviews the precocious Frankie Venter, who’s very much a pop star on the rise.

Venter, who hails from her interviewer’s hometown of Mount Maunganui, is incredibly only 17-years-old, and has already built up an impressive online community (over 6,000 Instagram followers and counting, and almost 11,000 monthly listeners on Spotify).

A true Gen Z artist, Venter never misses an opportunity to take fans into her exciting world through revealing Instagram clips and TikTok videos, but as her Instagram bio states, her vision of herself couldn’t be simpler: she “likes writing songs & then also likes singing them.”

And how: Venter released her first single of 2024, “LEYLA” (alongside its sped up version), recently, which followed last year’s energetic “Move With It”, a track that earned praise from Sniffers.

In episode two of the new season of INTROS, which you can watch above, Lines and Venter explore life and music in a thoughtful conversation. The latter also performs one of her singles for the host and her viewers.

Hailing Venter as having a “voice well beyond her years and an online presence that I admire a lot,” Lines who released her new single “The Letter” recently, adds, “Her ability to bring you into her world with her songwriting is pretty incredible and we can’t get over the fact she’s only 17!!! Did we mention she’s only 17? (Say it again for the people in the back.)
