Rolling Stone AU/NZ cover star Hannah Gadsby is bringing her new stand-up show to several Australian cities.

The acclaimed comedian will bring their new show Woof! to Canberra, Brisbane, and Adelaide this July and August (see full dates below), following positively received appearances at Sydney Opera House and Melbourne Comedy Festival earlier this year.

“Hannah has a lot to worry about. Then again, so do we all. In a world full of genuine worries, which anxiety gets to sit in the front seat?” a press release says about Gadsby’s new show.

“Nearly six years after Nanette propelled them to international stardom, Hannah is learning how to process the world, with all its catastrophes and hypocrisies, from a new perspective and they’re ready to talk about it. From the irrelevant to the existential, Hannah took their worries on the road and their destination is Woof!

Before Woof! heads around Australia, Gadsby will perform the show to sold-out crowds across the US, and the tour will continue to the UK after Adelaide.

Critics have been praising Gadsby’s show this year. “It’s singular, deeply funny stuff, elevated as always by Gadsby’s bemused eye for an odd detail and exquisite phrase-turning.’ The Sydney Morning Herald wrote.

“If anyone can find new ways to refuse to do what is expected, it’s them.” hailed The Guardian.

Gadsby was unveiled as the latest Rolling Stone AU/NZ cover star in March.

The groundbreaking comedian, who won Best Comedy Special at the 2024 Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts Awards (AACTAs), granted us unprecedented access in one of their most revealing interviews to date.

Gadsby said: “It was never my dream to be on Rolling Stone magazine, certainly not the cover. Because why would you bother dreaming about something that’s highly unlikely?”
