“Bouncy, bubbly pop!” That’s how Kiwi duo Foley describe their captivating sound.
Taking inspiration from the likes of Caroline Polachek and Remi Wolf, Foley toe the line between danceable pop and poetic lyricism, joining the ranks of modern pop icons who forge their own path rather than fold into a cookie-cutter mould.
It’s for this reason they’ve been inducted into the program — a group of eight emerging Australian and New Zealand artists hand-selected and supported over a 12-month period, including exclusive concerts and editorial coverage.

Sitting down with us, the pair described their place within the group as a gratifying recognition of their achievements to date. “It’s awesome being part of such a killer lineup,” they said. “There’s some incredible artists we’re already fans of and love, and a few new ones we’re stoked to discover. Sitting alongside them all is a real pleasure.”
They went on to perform two songs for Rolling Stone AU/NZ’s In My Room: “Cinematic” and “Honey.” Both deliver Foley’s buoyant melodies and dramatic lyrics — fun pop singles with all the depth you’ve been yearning for. Watch the full session below.
On stage, they’ve toured across New Zealand, Australia, South Korea and America, and opened for stars including Tove Lo, Still Woozy, and Two Door Cinema Club. Their singles have racked up numerous radio plays, including a multi-week run at No. 1 with “Honey.”
Foley are on the precipice of a new musical frontier. They described their latest EP, Like an Actress, released earlier this year, as “transitional,” saying it was “full of stories about love, travel, discovering yourself.” Follow their journey through the Fresh Sounds Class of ’26 and beyond here.
