If you’re in Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland this Sunday (August 9th), there’s only one place to be.
Geneva AM will take to the stage at Q Theatre to play her wonderful debut album, Pikipiki, one of the most acclaimed Aotearoa records of the last few years.
Backed by experimental light artist Catherine Ellis and Ngā Whetu Ensemble, Geneva will bring “a wonderful afternoon of music, light and storytelling” to one of Auckland’s best theatres.

If you fancy a teaser of what’s to come on Sunday afternoon, Geneva recorded a great In My Room session to celebrate her inclusion in our Future of Music 2026 series.

The Auckland-based musician was one of the first names in this year’s Future of Music, chosen as one of 25 ANZ acts we’re excited about in 2026 and beyond.
“Geneva AM is Indigenous, fun, and at times a little unexpected,” she told us in an exclusive interview for the series.
Of her debut album, she said that “‘Pikipiki’ is my weapon of choice against all of the challenges life can throw in my way. It is a love letter to my urban upbringing and a genuine statement about who I am as a person.”
Elsewhere in the interview, she teased “more music for a follow-up album” is already in the works.
Pikipiki has been lauded everywhere in New Zealand music’s awards circuit. After winning Best Independent Debut at the 2026 Taite Music Prize, she was nominated three times at this year’s Aotearoa Music Awards.
For album highlight “Urban Planning”, one of our favourite Australian and New Zealand songs of the 21st century so far, Geneva — real name Geneva Alexander-Marsters — is also in the running for the prestigious 2026 APRA Silver Scroll Award.
Geneva features in the Silver Scroll top 20 alongside Lorde, Aldous Harding, The Veils, and more, with the winner set to be announced in October.
