Budjerah has shared another taste of his new album.
Budjerah announced his long-awaited debut album, Gentleman, in March, with the record set to drop on July 24th via Warner Music Australia.
It features new single “Could I Be”, out today, a feel-good bop which channels ’00s pop and R&B (listen below).
“‘Could I Be’ is about when you realise that you’re falling in love,” Budjerah explains. “Love can be unexpected and sudden. It’s a fun uptempo track with lots of sweet falsettos and high notes. There’s some inspiration from ’70s R&B and soul music, stuff that my family would play often when I was little.”
Gentleman also features recent singles “Want You Back” and the title track, the latter of which was written by songwriting heavyweights Autumn Rowe (Alexis Jordan, Kylie Minogue), Kizzo Keaz (Jon Batiste, Ne-Yo), and Philip Lawrence (Bruno Mars).
Of the album, Budjerah says, “Gentleman is my debut album and It’s inspired by who I wanted to be when I was growing up. This album was almost a four-year process for me.
