Multi-platinum singer-songwriter Stephen Sanchez is making his return to Australia and New Zealand, with ‘The Lover Down Under Tour’ touching down this July.
After selling out shows during his last visit, 2024’s Angel Face tour, Sanchez is supporting his upcoming album Love, Love, Love with seven shows in theatre venues across the region. First is New Zealand, with shows at Christchurch and Auckland Town Halls on July 11th and 12th, respectively, before gigs in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth from Wednesday, July 15th to Tuesday, July 28th.
Ticket sales begin with a Frontier Member presale from 11am (local) on Thursday, April 23rd, before a general sale opens at 12pm (local) on Friday, April 24th. Sanchez is yet to announce any support acts for the tour dates.
Sanchez has already been hard at work onstage this year, making a debut at Nashville’s legendary Grand Ole Opry stage. And just last week, he released his third single off of the upcoming album, “CHUCK THE MONEY,” which continues to showcase the vintage influences on his work through a flourish of trumpets while lyrics sing of abandoning materialism for real connections.
Sanchez previously released the album’s title track and another single titled “SWEET LOVE” earlier this year. The former was the biggest streaming day of his career so far, tallying over 500,000 streams on ‘LOVE, LOVE, LOVE” within 24 hours of its release.
His 2023 debut album, Angel Face, led by it’s multi-platinum track “Until I Found You”, has gathered over two billion streams, 1.5 of which were on the aforementioned song alone — a song that took a spot in the Top 25 of the Billboard Hot 100, no small feat for an artist so early in his career.
