Thrash metal titans Anthrax have announced they will return to Australia for four huge nights in 2026.

Presented by Live Nation, the Australian tour will kick off at Brisbane’s Fortitude Music Hall on Monday, March 23rd, before shows at Adelaide’s Hindley Street Music Hall on March 25th, Melbourne’s Festival Hall on March 26th, and Sydney’s Enmore Theatre on March 28th.

The tour, where they’ll perform a career-spanning arsenal of classics, marks their first visit to Australian since 2019. Fans can expect a high-octane set packed with fan favourites, deep cuts and new-era highlights as Anthrax once again prove why they remain one of metal’s most vital live forces.

Tickets for all shows will go on sale at 11am (local) on Friday, November 28th. A Mastercard presale will run from 11am (local) on Wednesday, November 26th, while a Live Nation presale begins 11am (local) on Thursday, November 27th — sign up here.

Bold and uncompromising, Anthrax stands as one of the legendary “big four” of thrash, a band whose breakneck riffs and mosh-pit anthems have shaped heavy music for over four decades.

Hailing from New York, the group has sold over 10 million albums in a highly distinguished career, and things don’t seem to be slowing down. The story of Anthrax is one of gritty determination in the face of outrageous odds, proof positive that you can’t keep a good band down.

They’ve just completed mixing their first new album in nearly a decade, confirmed by drummer Charlie Benante on social media. The album, produced by Jay Ruston and partially recorded at Dave Grohl’s Studio 606, is being hailed by bassist Frank Bello as a major step up in musicianship and songwriting.

While the exact release date is unknown, the band plans to drop a new song before the end of 2025, concentrate on their 2026 tour cycle, and promises a “thrashier than anything” record with an incredible performance from singer Joey Belladonna.
