Karan Aujla’s Australian tour is officially moving ahead, with Rolling Stone AU/NZ able to confirm the Punjabi superstar’s visa has now been approved following concerns over the fate of his upcoming shows.
The update comes after visa delays forced Aujla to postpone the opening Perth date of his P-Pop Culture tour, which was originally scheduled for tonight (August 13th).
A spokesperson for tour promoter Live Nation said in a statement to Rolling Stone AU/NZ: “Live Nation is pleased to confirm that Karan Aujla’s Australian visa has now been approved. We welcome the resolution of the matter and thank everyone involved in helping bring it to a conclusion.
“Our focus now is on welcoming Karan to Australia and delivering the tour for his fans, beginning in Adelaide this Sunday.”
Aujla first alerted fans to the issue on Wednesday (August 12th), saying he was forced to reschedule the Perth show while awaiting approval of his Australian visa. “Perth I’m very sorry to say we are rescheduling Thursday’s show due to delays with the approval of my Australian visa,” he said on Instagram stories. “I’ve never had visa issues in any country, including last time I toured Australia. Hopefully this will be resolved soon and I’ll be in Adelaide on Sunday. Please hold on to your tickets, I’m doing everything to get the Australian visa approved as soon as possible.”
According to news.com.au, Aujla’s visa was initially shelved by the Department of Home Affairs in what his representatives claimed was a case of mistaken identity. Immigration officers reportedly informed Live Nation that Aujla – whose real name is Jaskaran Singh Aujla – had been identified as a “person of interest”. His representatives claimed authorities had mistaken him for another man named Jaskaran Singh, who was arrested in Ontario in May 2024 on alleged extortion and firearm offences.
With his visa now approved, Aujla remains scheduled to perform in Adelaide on Sunday, August 16th, before heading to Melbourne for two shows at Rod Laver Arena. Sydney and Brisbane dates will follow, with the rescheduled Perth show now closing out the Australian leg on Monday, August 24th. While in this part of the world, he’ll also cross the ditch for a New Zealand show at Auckland’s Spark Arena.

The Canadian-Indian star had already made light of the visa saga. On Thursday (August 13th), he shared a meme to his Instagram Stories showing a group of men dancing and celebrating to his hit “Softly”, captioned: “Me & my team as soon as I land in Australia.”
One of the biggest global names in Punjabi music today, Aujla has become a cultural phenomenon, connecting with crowds around the world with his musical blend of Punjabi pop, hip-hop, and other sounds. Born in India before moving to Canada at 17, Aujla got his start in music penning songs for other Punjabi artists, before striking out on his own with solo music.
Over the course of his career, Aujla has amassed over 3 billion views on YouTube alone, building a global fanbase in the millions in the process. His most recent album, P-Pop Culture (2025), debuted at No. 1 on Spotify in both India and Pakistan, reached No. 4 in Canada, and topped Apple Music charts across all three countries.
P-Pop Culture became the highest debut for a Punjabi-language album in Canadian history, earning 12.4 million streams in its first week (surpassing Aujla’s own record set by previous album, 2023’s Making Memories).
