Dick Move are releasing a new album this year.
Titled Dream, Believe, Achieve, the Aotearoa punk band’s third studio album will arrive November 14th via 1:12 Records and Flying Nun Records.
Dream, Believe, Achieve is described as “13 tracks of unrelenting energy,” with the Auckland-based band’s typically robust punk rock anthems set to be “delivered in just 25 minutes.”
The album features new single “Nurses”, a snarling attack on the idiotic strategies of neoliberalism governments.
“When the government chooses landlords over nurses,” states vocalist Lucy Suttor, “it’s not neglect, it’s strategy. Defund, destabilise, privatise – that’s the playbook. And we’re calling it out.”
“Nurses” was preceded by “Fuck It”, an equally loud and uncompromising rejection of outdated systems, which will also feature on Dick Move’s forthcoming album.
Dream, Believe, Achieve was tracked and mixed by De Stevens at Roundhead Studios, produced by friend and collaborator Peter Ruddell (Wax Chattels), with Mikey Young on mastering duties.

Dick Move — composed of Suttor alongside, Lucy Macrae, Hariet Ellis, Justin Rendell, and Luke Boyes — released their most recent album, Wet, in 2023.
Wet featured in our Best New Zealand Albums of the 2020s So Far list, coming in at No. 49.
“Auckland’s favourite punk band of the last few years? Probably. Formed in the bowels of Whammy Bar, Dick Move have honed their craft by playing gig after gig after gig on K’ Road and beyond since 2019, and any room they play has been packed out due to their growing reputation on the live circuit.
“While their raucous punk is perhaps best listened to up close, Dick Move demonstrated that they also sound thrilling as hell recorded with the release of their second album. There’s a reason the band were called upon for a massive support slot when the Foo Fighters were in town,” we wrote.
As well as supporting Dave Grohl and co. while the Foo Fighters were in New Zealand, Dick Move have also supported the likes of Cosmos Psychos, The Chats, and former Rolling Stone AU/NZ cover stars Amyl and the Sniffers.
Dick Move’s “Nurses” is out now. Dream, Believe, Achieve is out November 14th via 1:12 Records and Flying Nun Records (pre-save/pre-order here).
