It’s been three decades since Oasis dropped one of the most iconic records of the Britpop era, and now the band are marking the milestone with a 30th anniversary deluxe edition of What’s the Story) Morning Glory?, complete with five newly recorded unplugged versions of classic tracks including “Wonderwall”, “Champagne Supernova”, and “Acquiesce”.
Set for release on October 3rd via Big Brother Recordings, the 30th anniversary edition will be available across limited 2-CD, 3-LP, and digital formats. Alongside the 2014 remastered version of the album, fans will get stripped-back takes on “Cast no Shadow”, “Morning Glory”, “Wonderwall”, “Acquiesce” and “Champagne Supernova”, all newly produced and mixed by Noel Gallagher with Callum Marinho at Noel’s Lone Star Sound studio in London. The updated “Acquiesce (Unplugged)” has dropped today, offering the first taste of what’s to come.
The reissue features new artwork by original sleeve designer Brian Cannon and fresh liner notes, plus exclusive coloured vinyl editions: an Amazon-exclusive sepia marble 3-LP inspired by “Wonderwall” and a neon orange 3-LP via the band’s official store.
Originally released in October 1995, (What’s the Story) Morning Glory? became a cultural juggernaut, selling more than 22 million copies worldwide and earning Oasis their first BRIT Award for Best British Album. It remains the UK’s third biggest selling studio album of all time, and was recently crowned the UK’s most streamed album of the 1990s.
The anniversary drop comes as Oasis hit the road for their highly anticipated ‘Live ‘25’ tour, with unprecedented demand seeing fans from 158 countries scramble for tickets. The global tour kicks off this week in Cardiff before moving through the UK and eventually landing in Australia in October and November.
Promoter Live Nation has confirmed that extra tickets are now up for grabs for the Australian shows, with newly released production holds available for the Melbourne dates at Marvel Stadium on October 31st, November 1st and 4th, and the Sydney shows at Accor Stadium on November 7th and 8th. To celebrate, Big Brother Recordings has launched the Oasis Live ‘25 Map Experience — an interactive digital platform built on Google Maps that lets fans explore tour stops through geo-tagged Oasis history. The app features exclusive content, official merch hotspots, and AR activations, along with a chance for fans to have their YouTube Shorts featured on the band’s official channel.
