More than five decades after John Lennon’s “Give Peace a Chance” became an anthem for change, a powerhouse lineup of Australian artists are coming together to honour his legacy.
This July, the ‘Give Peace a Chance’ tour will see five iconic Aussie singer-songwriters—Adalita (Magic Dirt), Diesel, Steve Kilbey (The Church), Isabella Manfredi (The Preatures), and Kevin Mitchell (Jebediah/Bob Evans)—bring new life to Lennon’s most enduring songs.
This isn’t just another tribute tour. It’s a celebration of Lennon the songwriter, the activist, the dreamer. Backed by an all-star band led by Ashley Naylor (Even), these performances will deliver fresh interpretations of Lennon’s greatest works, spanning his years with The Beatles and his solo career.
From the raw punch of “Instant Karma!” to the beauty of “Jealous Guy,” audiences can expect powerful reimaginings of the music that defined a generation.
The tour will take over some of the country’s most prestigious venues, including Brisbane’s QPAC Concert Hall on July 3rd, Melbourne’s Hamer Hall on July 5th, the Sydney Opera House on July 6th, and Adelaide Festival Theatre on July 12th.
For the artists involved, Lennon’s influence is immeasurable. “I’m so excited to be part of the John Lennon ‘Give Peace a Chance’ tour,” Adalita shared. “His music has been a big part of my life since I was a kid, and it always resonates with me. It’s such an incredible opportunity to perform these iconic songs with such amazing artists.”
Diesel echoed the sentiment: “I’ve been enamoured by the songs of John Lennon since I was a child, and I can’t wait to get my head and hands around his body of work with a truly inspiring array of people on stage.”
Lennon’s impact as both a musician and an activist still resonates today. His music wasn’t just melody—it was protest, poetry, and an urgent call for change.
With a setlist sure to include the psychedelic dreamscape of “Strawberry Fields Forever,” the revolutionary grit of “Come Together,” and the hopeful message of “Imagine,” this tour is more than a nostalgic journey—it’s a reminder of why Lennon’s voice still matters.
Pre-sale tickets are available from March 18, with general sale beginning March 20. Full details at givepeaceachance.com.au.
