Oasis finally confirmed an Australian leg of their global reunion tour this week, but don’t expect the band to be revealing much about the shows.
Liam and Noel Gallagher haven’t spoken publicly about the Oasis reunion yet, and it doesn’t seem like that’s going to change anytime soon.
When Liam was asked on X/Twitter by a fan “when’s the first interview together?” he simply responded: “We’re not doing any.”
He expanded on that answer in a separate thread, writing, “We don’t want to do interviews coz we’re scared of the media asking us intrusive questions and trying to pick holes in our relationship.”
As exclusively confirmed by Rolling Stone AU/NZ last week, Oasis are bringing their reunion tour to Australia next year.
Oasis originally scheduled a show at Melbourne’s Marvel Stadium on Friday, October 31st, followed by a show at Sydney’s Accor Stadium on Friday, November 7th.
If ticket sales went as well as they did in the UK, Europe, and the Americas, more Australian tour dates were expected to be added.
And announced today, Oasis will now play again at Marvel Stadium on Saturday, November 1st, and again at Accor Stadium on Saturday, November 8th (see full details below).
Oasis boast a strong connection with Australia, where “Wonderwall” came in at #1 on triple j’s Hottest 100 songs of the past 20 years, which counted down in 2013, and the song was voted #1 on the “Hottest 100” for 1995.
(What’s the Story) Morning Glory? is certified eight-times platinum in Australia, having clocked up four consecutive weeks at #1 and 24 consecutive weeks in the top 10.
