Wet Leg brought Brat to Truck Festival 2024 with an impromptu cover of Charli XCX‘s single “360.” The indie rock band headed by Hester Chambers and Rhian Teasdale slotted their own unique take on the record into their 11-track set list.
Teasdale led the performance while the rest of the band lent a thick bass line and thumping percussion to the track. In videos from the set, audience members who are also tapped into Brat Girl Summer can be heard shouting the lyrics back at the singer with a particular boost in volume during: “I’m everything I’m so Julia.”

The Charli single marked the only cover Wet Leg selected for their set. The rest of their performance featured popular singles and deep cuts like “Wet Dream,” “Chaise Lounge,” “Too Late Now,” and more. It wasn’t exactly the kind of rave-ready dance performance that’s defined the Brat era thus far, but their embracing of the record’s carefree spirit is what matters.
Brat has only become more pervasive as the summer has progressed. Music and memes from the album have become integral in everything from Kamala Harris’ presidential campaign to dissections of the current state of pop as its one-time avant-garde auteur moved from left of field to front and center.
“To have a truly good album campaign that doesn’t crumble when you scratch the surface, you have to be interested in theory,” Charli recently told Rolling Stone UK. “Obviously, it depends what kind of artist you are, but I think memorable albums are rooted in deep thought rather than just vibes, which to me is the biggest crime.”
