Matt Corby is planning his first national tour in four years.
In support of his upcoming album Everything’s Fine, which is scheduled for release on March 24th (pre-save/pre-order here), the singer-songwriter will visit Melbourne, Brisbane, Sydney, and Adelaide throughout May (see full details below).
Tickets go on sale to the general public on Tuesday, February 21st at 9am AEDT. The fans and Spotify Fans First pre-sale begins on Friday, February 17th at 9am AEDT. Corby’s tour will also support a good cause: $1 per ticket will be donated to One Tree Planted, an environmental charity that supports reforestation around the world.
To mark his tour announcement, Corby has shared his new single, “Big Smoke”. The introspective offering finds Corby considering the difficulty of letting go. “”Big Smoke” is a song that touches on the duality on living with your vices but being conscious of the fact they are probably not good for you,” he says about the track.
“Big Smoke” will feature on Corby’s long-awaited third studio album Everything’s Fine, which the musician revealed was on the way last month. Everything’s Fine is the follow-up to 2018’s acclaimed Rainbow Valley, which earned Corby three nominations at the ARIA Music Awards.
Corby’s new album captures five years of both personal and creative growth for the singer-songwriter. “I’m at a really beautiful point in my life,” he said about the album. “I’m accepting all this stuff: the good and the bad, but particularly the bad.”
Matt Corby’s Everything’s Fine is out March 24th via Island Records Australia.
