Gang of Youths might be gearing up for something bigger.
After making their long-awaited return to Australian stages earlier this year, the Sydney-born, London-based band have dropped a series of hints suggesting more live shows could be on the horizon.
On Saturday (October 24th), the band shared live footage of “in the wake of your leave” from a recent Sydney performance to Instagram, accompanied by the cryptic caption: “More, soon. 🎥 @nanoclow”.

That alone might have suggested more concert footage was coming. But a second post on TikTok today (October 28th) has raised the stakes.
Sharing a video filmed from the stage during soundcheck, the band offered another tantalising message: “We will see you soon, in rooms.”
Could a full Australian tour finally be on the cards?
The latest teasers follow Gang of Youths’ triumphant homecoming in August, which saw the band perform their first Australian shows in almost four years.
The run began with an intimate warm-up performance at Anita’s Theatre in Thirroul on August 6th, before two sold-out nights at the Sydney Opera House’s Concert Hall on August 8th and 10th.
During their Opera House performances, the band also indicated they would be returning in 2027, a promise that now looks increasingly significant.
And there’s already one Australian date locked in.
As Rolling Stone AU/NZ reported last week, Gang of Youths will headline Tasmania’s Party in the Paddock festival on Friday, February 5th, alongside a lineup featuring Hilltop Hoods, Ninajirachi and Violent Soho.
Whether that appearance forms part of a larger Australian run remains to be seen, but the timing certainly leaves the door open.
The band have been hinting at additional shows for some time. When announcing four UK and European dates in August, they told fans outside Paris, Amsterdam, Manchester and London: “For those of you not in Paris, Amsterdam, Manchester or London, we will be seeing you soon.”
Those four shows, scheduled for November and December, have since sold out.
The renewed live activity comes alongside a new musical chapter for Gang of Youths, who returned in August with “Things Take Time”, their first new single since 2022’s acclaimed angel in realtime.
Speaking to Rolling Stone AU/NZ ahead of their second Sydney Opera House show, frontman Dave Le’aupepe and guitarist Jung Kim reflected on the band’s extended absence, revealing that while they had stepped away from performing, they had continued writing and recording together.
“We’re always kind of like, ‘Should we go to the studio today?’” Le’aupepe explained, describing a creative process that had continued without the pressure of deadlines or expectations.
And when asked whether “Things Take Time” might be the first taste of a fourth Gang of Youths album, the frontman was characteristically evasive.
“I cannot confirm or deny — corporate will not allow me,” he joked.
With new music already arriving, international shows underway and an Australian festival appearance confirmed for early 2027, the pieces certainly appear to be falling into place.
For now, no wider Australian headline tour has been officially announced, and the latest teasers could also refer to more international performances.
But after almost four years away from the stage, Gang of Youths appear to be making up for lost time, and Australian fans might not have long to find out what’s next.
