Zara Larsson has made history on the final nights of her Australian and New Zealand tour.
The pop superstar has officially broken the record for the largest show in the 19-year history of New Zealand’s Spark Arena, two nights in a row.
12,796 attended the first show at New Zealand’s largest venue on Sunday night, which broke the record, before she topped that with 12,798 coming out on Monday night.
Larsson and her touring crew were welcomed to Auckland with a pōwhiri from local iwi Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei, followed by a presentation marking the record.
“Zara’s meteoric rise is unparalleled and a reflection of her talent, her warmth, and the genuine connection she has with fans around the world,” Live Nation tour promoter, Mike Ross, said.
“Breaking the all-time record at Spark Arena is a rarefied achievement amongst the many legendary names who have played the venue over the last 19 years – to do it twice, on consecutive nights, is incredible.”
Spark Arena General Manager, Mark Gosling, added: “We are thrilled that Zara has broken the house record. It’s great to see artists pushing the boundaries of what’s possible at the arena, and Zara has set a figure that may be hard to beat. Congratulations to Zara and her team from all of us at Spark Arena.”

Spark Arena first opened its doors in 2007. The previous record of 12,736 tickets was set by Linkin Park in March.
The record comes just days after Larsson performed the biggest headline show of her career to almost 18,000 fans at Afterpay Arena in Sydney on Friday evening.
Rolling Stone AU/NZ saw the first show of the tour in Brisbane, giving it a 4.5 star rating. Check out the full review here.
