The countdown to Laneway Festival 2027 is on, with street stencils popping up across Australia and New Zealand revealing when we can expect the highly anticipated lineup to drop.
On Friday, stencils bearing next Wednesday’s date, September 30th, began appearing across Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, and Auckland. In Sydney, a yellow stencil was spotted on Newtown’s Enmore Road, while white versions have appeared in Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley.
While the festival is yet to officially confirm the announcement date, the stencils suggest we could be just days away from finding out who’s heading Down Under for Laneway 2027.

Last month, Laneway revealed its dates and venues, confirming Sydney will kick off the 2027 run on February 12th. The festival will then hit Brisbane on February 13th, Melbourne on February 19th, and Auckland on February 21st.
Next year’s edition will look a little different, however, with Adelaide and Perth dropped from the schedule as organisers looked to scale back.

She was even linked to an alleged poster lineup leak earlier this month, which also featured Fontaines D.C. and This Is Lorelei. There are currently spaces in the artists’ announced touring schedules for an Australian run during that period – Williams’ listed 2027 headline dates finish in Mexico on January 17th before resuming in Europe in June, while This Is Lorelei is booked to play Amsterdam on February 24th.
There is also already a connection between Williams and Fontaines D.C. – she is confirmed as a special guest at the Irish band’s two massive Slane Castle shows in June 2027, alongside Damien Dempsey and Madra Salach.
Whether they’ll make an appearance at the festival remains to be seen, but fans won’t have much longer to wait to find out.
Laneway celebrated its 21st anniversary this year with a lineup led by Chappell Roan, alongside Wolf Alice, Role Model, Wet Leg, PinkPantheress, Geese, and more.
Earlier this year, co-founder Danny Rogers told Rolling Stone AU/NZ the festival remained focused on discovering artists on the cusp of breaking through rather than simply chasing established names. “I’m still more interested in finding who the next Charli is, who the next Fontaines D.C. is, you know. I’d rather the festival be in a position where it can move culture, not just be a follower.”
