Empire of the Sun have continued to revisit some of their most famous tracks with today’s release of the DNA (Reimagined) EP.
After dropping an Alive remix EP earlier this year, the Sydney duo’s latest offering celebrates “DNA” from their second album, Ice on the Dune.
Originally remixed by Calvin Harris after its release in 2013, the new EP also features remixes from Spain-based producer Maceo Plex and US DJ Ian Asher.

The release comes only days after Empire of the Sun announced their biggest ever tour of Australia and New Zealand, set for early next year. The band last toured our shores in 2024 in support of their latest record, Ask That God, which they also took globally.
It’s possible that the upcoming shows will also feature new music. In a recent interview with Rolling Stone AU/NZ, Nick Littlemore said Empire are aiming to release a brand new album “within the next year.”

“We pretty much have all the songs now… I have high hopes for it now,” he said.
“We kind of went straight in after making the film in Thailand and started making new things. It feels really exciting. Luke’s [Steele] never sung better. I think all this touring has made his voice so strong, super focused. We’re both sober, which is interesting…”
