Tove Lo is heading back to Australia in 2027, announcing a four-date run in support of her forthcoming sixth album, ESTRUS.

The Swedish pop star will bring her ‘ESTRUS’ Tour to Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney and Perth next March, kicking things off at Brisbane’s Fortitude Music Hall on March 1st before heading to Melbourne’s MCA, Sydney’s Hordern Pavilion and Perth’s Ice Cream Factory.

“I love going down under,” Tove Lo said in announcing the tour. “Australia I’m coming back! It’s gonna be sweatier, dirtier and more emotional than ever. love u xxx”

Australian singer-songwriter SALTY will support Tove Lo across all four dates. The emerging pop artist released her debut EP the other side and has continued to build momentum with singles including “See U In 3”, “Touch Grass” and “The Eye”.

The Australian shows arrive as Tove Lo enters a new chapter with ESTRUS, her sixth studio album, which is due to be released worldwide on September 18th.

Taking its title from the term for a female mammal being in heat, the album sees Tove Lo digging further into the candid songwriting around sex, vulnerability and personal turmoil that has run throughout her career.

Inspired in part by The Knife, Robyn and the Swedish indie dance music she grew up listening to, ESTRUS was recorded with longtime collaborator Ludvig Söderberg, as well as Elvira Anderfjärd and Luka Kloser, and features a collaboration with Belgian artist Stromae.

She previously said, “Robyn has always been my number one inspiration. She, to me, is a pop artist with so much integrity,” Lo told us. “She has so much taste. I’m always so impressed with what she’s doing, I love her new album [Sexistential]. It’s so amazing.

“I feel that these alternative pop girls and women who are coming through, throwing out the rulebook… it feels very much that we are controlling the space now.”

Recording took place across Los Angeles, Stockholm and a small Swedish fishing village where Tove Lo spent summers as a child, and where she previously worked on parts of 2022’s Dirt Femme.

Returning to the location brought back memories of “growing up, being depressed, struggling with my eating disorder, going through breakups, family drama, loss, everything,” she said.

Fans heading to the Australian shows can expect to hear material from the new record, including the already-released “I’m your girl right?”, “des fliers” and “DNH”, alongside a catalogue that includes “Habits (Stay High)”, “Talking Body”, “Cool Girl”, “Disco Tits” and “Glad He’s Gone”.

The wider ‘ESTRUS’ Tour begins in Nashville on September 15th and will travel through the US, Canada, Mexico, the UK and Europe, with Australia’s own Mallrat supporting the US dates.

Artist and Mastercard pre-sale for the Australian shows begins Friday, September 11th at 9am local time. Secret Sounds and Live Nation pre-sales begin Monday, September 14th at 9am local time, with general tickets on sale Tuesday, September 1th at 10am local time.
