Jebediah have postponed the remainder of their North Queensland tour dates after experiencing a medical emergency.
The Perth alt-rock veterans announced the news in a statement today, Friday August 21st, confirming that shows in Mackay, Townsville and Cairns would no longer go ahead as scheduled.
“We regret to inform our fans that we must postpone this weekend’s shows,” the band wrote.
“The band has experienced a medical emergency that requires immediate attention, making postponement the most prudent course of action.”
The affected dates include Mackay on Friday, August 21st, Townsville on Saturday, August 22nd, and Cairns on Sunday, August 23rd.
Jebediah have not provided further details about the nature of the medical emergency.

Ticket holders will be entitled to refunds and contacts by the agency through which their tickets were purchased. The band also intends to reschedule the shows, with replacement dates to be announced once arrangements can be made.
“We did not take this decision lightly, we hate postponing shows & letting down our loyal fans,” Jebediah continued. “We’ll advise as soon as new dates can be organised and look forward to seeing you soon.”
The postponements come just a week after Jebediah attended the Melbourne International Film Festival for the premiere of Jebediah: Are We OK?, a new documentary tracing the band’s three-decade history.
Directed by Arlo Dean Cook and supported by the MIFF Premiere Fund, the film follows Jebediah from their high school beginnings in Perth through their rise during the late-’90s and early 2000s Australian alternative rock boom and into the more complicated realities of keeping a band together for 30 years.
Featuring extensive archival and home-movie footage, Are We OK? also examines the personal toll of life in the music industry, including addiction, strained relationships, and the challenge of maintaining friendships and creative partnerships as band members mature.
Alongside Jebediah members Kevin Mitchell, Brett Mitchell, Ness Thornton and Chris Daymond, the documentary features perspectives from Australian music figures including Tim Rogers, Phil Jamieson and Janet English.
The film arrives more than three decades after Jebediah first formed in Perth, during which time the group have remained one of Australian alternative rock’s most enduring line-ups.
New dates for the postponed Queensland shows are yet to be announced.
