Last month, Walton Goggins‘ interview with the Times UK was abruptly cut short after he was asked multiple questions about his The White Lotus co-star Aimee Lou Wood. This did little to temper rumors of an ongoing clash between them. Now, the pendulum has swung in the other direction. Speaking with Variety, Goggins enthusiastically praised Wood and reiterated that they are on good terms.

“There is no feud. I adore, I love this woman madly, and she is so important to me,” he said, reportedly getting choked up, while seated next to Wood. “This is Goldie Hawn. This is Meg Ryan. She can do anything, and she will. You watch what the next 20 years of her experience will be. I’ll be on an island, I think Greece. But she’s special. There is no feud. She is love and I know that I am that to her. We care about each other very deeply.”

Goggins specifically called out the Times UK interview, which he said posed questions of a “divisive nature” about Wood. He stated that the decision to end the conversation early stemmed from not wanting to speak on Wood’s behalf. Their joint conversation with Variety occurred two days later and allowed Wood to weigh in, too. She wanted to clear up the speculation about why she and Goggins no longer follow each other on Instagram.

“I think it’s such a comment on where we’re at culturally. Why is everyone obsessing over Instagram? That is irrelevant. We don’t give a shite about Instagram,” she said. “Why not have conversations about the story and Rick and Chelsea and enjoy it?” Goggins added, “Just to put this to bed? The following or unfollowing. I’m a grown-ass man,” then he followed her back on the spot.

Per Goggins, the social media cleanse was part of his “process” when the season wrapped in Thailand. “I needed to just back away from everyone. I haven’t spoken to anyone. I couldn’t handle it,” he said. “Judge me or don’t. I don’t give a fuck what you think. This is my process. Rick means everything to me, and Chelsea means everything to me. And so that’s what I needed to do for me to process all of this.”
