Before The Studio has even wrapped its debut season, the Apple TV+ series has already been renewed for Season Two.

“We’re thrilled to be making a second season of ‘The Studio,’” said co-creators Seth Rogen (who also stars in the series) and Evan Goldberg in a statement. “We’re looking forward to taking the lived experience of making season one and immediately putting it into season two, then repeating that loop for 10 more seasons. And, we’re excited to keep all our industry friends and colleagues guessing as to when one of their personal stories will stream on Apple TV+.”

Rogen plays Matt, the head of Continental Studios, a bonafide movie nerd who has turned his passion into his career, putting him in morally hilarious situations throughout the series as he finds himself deciding between keeping his dream job or occasionally feeding the machine in his pursuit to great movie-making.

News of The Studio‘s renewal arrives two weeks ahead of the show’s season finale, which is slated for release on May 21. Emmy, SAG, and Golden Globe Award winner Catherine O’Hara; Emmy Award nominee Kathryn Hahn; Ike Barinholtz; and Chase Sui Wonders star alongside Rogen in the comedy series. Emmy Award-winning Bryan Cranston guest stars. The series also features a lineup of cameos from some of Hollywood’s most iconic actors, directors, and producers throughout the season.

Produced by Lionsgate Television, The Studio is created by multi-Emmy Award winners Peter Huyck and Alex Gregory, along with Rogen, Goldberg, and Frida Perez. Point Grey Pictures’ James Weaver executive produces the series along with the creators, while Alex McAtee and Josh Fagen serve as executive producers.

In a Rolling Stone review, TV critic Alan Sepinwall hailed the debut series as “simultaneously vicious and affectionate,” declaring it “a show made by people who clearly love Hollywood, and who as a result understand exactly how to craft jokes about all the ways the town, and its business, are terrible.”
