International heavyweights like David Byrne and Shania Twain, and local legend Peter Garrett are just a few of the names who will appear on the new season of Take 5 with Zan Rowe.
Rolling Stone AU/NZ can exclusively reveal that the show will return to ABC TV on Thursday, August 20th, with all episodes available to stream on ABC iview.
In addition to Byrne, Twain and Garrett, the fifth season of the music interview series will also feature former New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern, Savage Garden’s Darren Hayes, US country star Lainey Wilson, Australian star Genesis Owusu and ARIA Hall of Famers Vika & Linda Bull.
As always, the guests will share five tracks that tied to a personal theme or story in their lives.
Per ABC: “Shania Twain reflects on the childhood poverty that shaped her; Darren Hayes opens up in a deeply personal story of healing; and David Byrne follows his creative curiosity across an extraordinary career. Jacinda Ardern reveals the songs that guided her leadership, while Peter Garrett shares his soundtrack for change. Lainey Wilson tips her cowboy hat to the songs that keep her grounded, and Genesis Owusu charts his remarkable evolution, while national treasures Vika & Linda’s stories of family, harmony and sisterhood are as powerful as the songs themselves.
Season 4 also featured a stack of massive names, including Lorde, Paul Kelly, Kevin Bacon, Jarvis Cocker, Mel C, and Aaron Chen.
Stream seasons one to four of Take 5 with Zan Rowe now on ABC iview.
