Jean Smart fans rejoice: Hacks has been renewed for a fifth season. Max announced the news ahead of the fourth season’s finale, which is set to air on Thursday, May 29.

The comedy series, which airs on Stan in Australia, stars Smart alongside Hannah Einbinder, Paul W. Downs, Megan Stalter, Carl Clemons-Hopkins, Mark Indelicato, and Rose Abdoo. It was created by Downs, Lucia Aniello, and Jen Statsky. To date, the show has earned 48 Emmy nominations and won Outstanding Comedy Series for its third season.

“Yes! More!” Sarah Aubrey, Head of Max Original Programming, said in a statement. “We congratulate Hacks‘ singularly talented cast and crew and our great partners at Universal Television.”

Erin Underhill, President of Universal Television, added, “Like Deborah Vance herself, Hacks only gets bolder, sharper, and more iconic with time. We’re beyond thrilled to keep the laughter rolling with Jen, Paul, Lucia, our extraordinary cast and crew, and our partners at Max.”

The fourth season premiered in April and followed Smart’s Deborah and Einbinder’s Ava as they attempt to get their late-night show off the ground and make history in the process. Other cast members included Dan Bucatinsky, Helen Hunt, Tony Goldwyn, Kaitlin Olson, Jane Adams, Lauren Weedman, Christopher McDonald, Julianne Nicholson, and Michaela Watkins. Rolling Stone has described the show as one of the “most beloved comedies in recent years” and “one of the funniest shows on TV.”

Downs recently revealed that Cher turned down a cameo on the series. Appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live, he said the showrunners have asked her to be on it several times and she has always passed. He recounted how Cher’s manager advised them to write in the singer’s ice cream brand Cherlato and she would “probably” agree to the role.

“So we wrote a commercial for Cherlato,” Downs recalled. “Deborah was gonna go to the Cherlato factory, she was gonna taste all the Cherlato, she was gonna love the Cherlato, and then when it came down to shoot, we got a pass. Now, people usually say, ‘I love the show, but respectfully, I don’t have time.’ Once, Javier Bardem said, ‘I cannot say yes right now,’ which is Spanish for ‘no.’ And so we said, ‘Is there any feedback? Can we change the script?’ And her manager said, ‘Well, this is the quote from Cher: I don’t want to do it.’”
