Sydney stepped inside the Mojave on Monday night (November 24th) as the stars of Fallout descended on Hoyts Entertainment Quarter for the Australian premiere of season two.
Cast members Ella Purnell, Aaron Moten and Walton Goggins walked the post-apocalyptic carpet alongside producer Noreen O’Toole, greeting fans and posing for photos before settling in for an exclusive preview of the new season.
Following its record-breaking first season, which drew over 100 million viewers and ranked among Prime Video’s top three most-watched titles of all time, Fallout season two picks up after the explosive finale, taking fans across the Mojave wasteland to New Vegas.
Based on one of the greatest video game series of all time, Fallout is the story of haves and have-nots in a world in which there’s almost nothing left to have. Two-hundred years after the apocalypse, the gentle denizens of luxury fallout shelters are forced to return to the irradiated hellscape their ancestors left behind, and are shocked to discover an incredibly complex, gleefully weird, and highly violent universe waiting for them.
Purnell promised that gamers will have plenty to get excited about, with season two unveiling new characters, factions and weapons that deepen the show’s connection to the beloved franchise.
“There’s a weapon that comes up in episode five I wanna say, most people will think ‘oh, cool weapon’, but fans of the game know what it is and what it means,” she told Rolling Stone AU/NZ on the red carpet. “Honestly, there’s so many Easter eggs that even I don’t know about!”

Local media figures and celebrities — including David Campbell, Lucia Field, Kent ‘Smallzy’ Smalls, Justin Hill and cosplayer Danijela Dacic (Miss Dani Cosplay) — joined fans for the celebration.
Before the screening, Campbell hosted a Q&A with the cast, who further teased what’s in store as the action shifts deeper into the Mojave. Without giving too much away, they promised bigger stakes, darker twists and a world that expands far beyond what viewers saw in season one.
In fact, Moten told Rolling Stone AU/NZ that season two will be a “fucking mind melt” for fans.
“I feel like we had great success our first year so we could play it safe, but we didn’t want to do that. It feels really good, I can’t wait for fans to see this product,” he said.
Goggins said fans can expect “many” badass scenes in season two from his character, the Ghoul, in particular. “One in particular… when I read it on the page, it took my breath away, I verbally gasped like ‘oh my God is this really happening’, and I hope the audience has a similar reaction,” he told us.
Season two will premiere globally on Prime Video on Wednesday, December 17th, with new episodes dropping weekly until the season finale on February 4th, 2026.
