The Doobie Brothers and Nathaniel Rateliff & the Night Sweats are among the new additions to next year's Bluesfest lineup.

The first artists for next year's Bluesfest have been announced, featuring a strong mix of international stars and local festival favourites.

After much uncertainty thanks to COVID, Bluesfest will go ahead in 2022 with the addition of eight international acts confirmed today

Having announced that their 2021 event would now take place across Easter of 2022, the Bluesfest lineup has now expanded once again.

“We are a resilient bunch. We have worked so hard since May 2019 to make Bluesfest happen and, guess what, we are not giving up," says Festival Director, Peter Noble OAM.

Originally set to join the 2020 Bluesfest lineup, Morcheeba will play their first Aussie shows since 2018 in April of next year.

Originally set to visit back in 2020, Bluesfest have now revealed the Marcus King Band will play a pair of Aussie headline dates next year.

With just weeks to go until the 2021 edition of Bluesfest kicks off, organisers have once again added more local talent to the lineup.

Dates from the likes of 2020 artists Patti Smith, George Benson, Larkin Poe, and The Wailers have all been set for early next year.

With international acts unable to travel due to ongoing border restrictions, Bluesfest 2021 will instead showcase stellar local talent.
