Australian and New Zealand Formula 1 fans will be given a rare opportunity to witness two of the sport’s most iconic figures in conversation, sharing untold stories, behind-the-scenes insights, and their passion with a speaking tour in 2026.
Former teammates, bitter-rivals, and friends Mika Häkkinen and David Coulthard will embark on a trip to Adelaide, Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth, and Auckland from March 1st-11th, delivering high-octane entertainment.
The pair, in conversation with a special guest interviewer yet to be announced, will discuss their storied, turbulent time in motorsport, the current state of play in Formula 1, the 2025 season, and their predictions for 2026, as the season begins in Melbourne over the March 6th-8th weekend.
The illustrious duo drove as rivals and then most famously as teammates for McLaren, taking home the 1998 Constructors’ Championship, with a partnership as brilliant and consistent as volatile.
“We pushed each other to the absolute limit – sometimes too far – but that’s what made us great. This tour is a chance to share the real stories behind the headlines, and to have a bit of fun with it too,” Häkkinen said.
Häkkinen will recount his journey, including joining Ayrton Senna at McLaren, surviving a life-threatening crash at the 1995 Adelaide Grand Prix, and executing his iconic 300km/h overtake at the 2000 Belgian Grand Prix, voted by fans as the greatest overtake in motorsport history. He will also reflect on his path to winning back-to-back Drivers’ Champion titles in 1998 and 1999.
Coulthard, regarded as one of Britain’s fastest and most consistent drivers, will share insights from his 15-season career, from replacing Senna at Williams in 1994 to securing his maiden win in 1995, racing for McLaren and Red Bull, and accumulating 13 Grand Prix victories, including two wins each at both the British and Monaco Grands Prix.

Of his partnership with Häkkinen, Coulthard said: “We were teammates, rivals, and sometimes even enemies – but always part of something bigger. Fans will get to hear the truth, the laughs, and maybe even a few things we’ve never said before.”
