From the NBA to the NBL and now with Reebok, Montrezl Harrell just loves to score.

The Adelaide 36ers basketball star laces up a deal with Reebok Australia, which sees him exclusively wearing the new Reebok Engine A for the remainder of 2024-2025 NBL season.

Through the partnership, Harrell becomes the first player outside of the United States to show-off the sneakers, which will be available to buy from February 2025. Financial terms of the arrangement weren’t disclosed.

“I’m excited to rejoin the Reebok team,” comments Harrell in a statement. “Reebok has a rich history in basketball and I’m honoured to represent the brand in Australia. I can’t wait to give the Aussie hoop fans a glimpse of Reebok’s new Engine A sneaker. They look great and feel amazing.”

Over time, Reebok has landed a number of high-profile endorsers, including retired basketball greats Shaquille O’Neal and Allen Iverson, and entertainers Ariana Grande, Gal Gadot, Gigi Hadid, Victoria Beckham and Cardi B. Harrell is often spotted wearing Reeboks on court, and, during the 2020-21 NBA season, made headlines by wearing sneakers covered in white fur, as a tribute to the “Abominable Snowman”.

A 6’7” power forward, Harrell is a former NBA Sixth Man of the Year in 2020 – an award that celebrates the Association’s best-performing reserve.

During an eight-season NBA run, Harrell posted career averages of 12.1 point per game, and 5 rebounds per game while shooting at a 60.19% clip from the field. For the 2019-20 season with the Los Angeles Clippers, he averaged a career high 18.6 PPG and 7.1 RPG — all-star calibre numbers.

Harrell is in his first NBL season, and is said to have an eye on returning to the NBA. Currently, he’s competing as an “injury player” with the 36ers, South Australia’s only representative in the competition. Since the league’s inauguration, Adelaide 36ers has collected four championship banners and, to this day, is the only NBL team to beat a squad from the NBA, having defeated the Phoenix Suns 134–124 in a preseason game in October 2022. The star import is averaging 20 ppg and close to 9 boards per outing for the 36ers, currently in eighth spot on the league ladder.
