Created In Partnership With the Australian Bureau of Statistics
Winter doesn’t have to mean quiet. Despite the shorter days and colder nights, headline acts and indie favourites are still hitting stages across Australia, and we’ve rounded up the gigs worth locking in this winter.
Between all the tours and ticket drops, there’s one important date worth circling too: Census night. Held every five years, the Census helps shape the funding, infrastructure and public services that support everything from transport and nightlife precincts to education and community programs.
On Tuesday, August 11th, the Australian Bureau of Statistics will count every person and household in the country, taking a snapshot of how Australia is growing and changing. Instructions for completing the Census will arrive before Tuesday, August 11th, and households can complete the Census early if they know who will be home on Census night. The data collected helps to inform decisions for communities and planning for services and cultural spaces. Don’t miss your chance to contribute to the future of your city. Every answer matters.
Ahead of August, these are the acts worth adding to your calendar and stepping out into the cold for this winter.
