It’s one of the most respected names on the Australian music scene, and with the Rolling Stone Australia Awards just mere weeks away, we’re teaming up with the globally-recognised JMC Academy to give you the chance to win studio mentorship session with JMC’s Sydney lecturer Nick Franklin plus a new Yamaha THR-II amplifier.

Next month is set to see the inaugural edition of the Rolling Stone Australia Awards, which will pay tribute to the best and brightest on the local music scene when the debut ceremony takes place at The Argyle in Sydney, on Wednesday, March 31st.

Sponsored by the likes of JMC Academy, awards are set to be distributed across the categories of Best Record, Best Single, Best New Artist, the Rolling Stone Global Award, and the Rolling Stone Reader’s Award, some of the biggest names in Aussie music are up for major honours, including the likes of Tame Impala, Lime Cordiale, and Tash Sultana.

A renowned name on the global music scene, JMC Academy has spent close to 40 years helping aspiring creatives realise their potential to succeed on the world stage. From audio engineering to music production and songwriting; film and television to the business side of things, JMC Academy has every single facet of the entertainment industry covered.

With JMC Sydney recently unveiling their newly updated studio, one member of the next generation of creatives has the chance to get hands-on in the studio thanks to a studio mentorship session with lecturer Nick Franklin as he shares with you the full scope of his immeasurable knowledge.

Meanwhile, the winner of the competition will also take home a Yamaha THR-II amplifier. A slick, wireless amplifier that features Bluetooth playback, exceptional sound, 15 guitar amp sounds and eight effects, a rechargeable battery, and all presented in the compact design that Yamaha is known for, it’s a vital addition for any studio.

Entry Period:Starts at March 8 2021 9am AEST and ends at March 22 2021 12pm AEST
Entry:

  3. Answer the following question: “in 25 words or less what’s your ideal studio setup”
Limit:One (1) entry per person
Judging Criteria: Originality and creativity
Prize Determination:The winner will be picked based on originality and relevance to the question
Notification: By email within a week of the winner being chosen
Claim Period:Within 4 weeks from the date of Notification. [Note: 3 months in South Australia. Shortest claim period is 4 minutes in NSW]
Unclaimed Prize Determination:Should the winner not claim the prize within 4 weeks from the date of Notification, a new winner will be chosen. The new winner will be notified via email within a week of the Prize Determination.
Prize:1 – One (1) Four (4) hour Studio mentorship session with JMC Academy’s lecturer Nick Franklin at their newly renovated Sydney studio, valued at $500
2 – One (1) Yamaha THR – II amplifier, valued at $550
