Weyes Blood has expanded her world tour with headline shows in Australia and New Zealand.
One of the most distinctive performers of her generation, Weyes Blood will begin with shows in Auckland and Wellington, before heading to Australia for a run of shows, including performances at two festivals, Vivid Sydney and Melbourne’s RISING (see full dates below).
A performance by the acclaimed singer-songwriter shouldn’t be one to miss. “Her sold-out performance at The Roundhouse has a congregation in silent rapture: scared to move, scared to raise a phone, in case it should break the spell,” The Guardian hailed in its 4-star review of her recent show in London.
Weyes Blood is touring in support of her fifth studio album, And in the Darkness, Hearts Aglow, which debuted late last year to strong reviews. It placed in several publication’s “Best of 2022” lists, including The AV Club, Consequence, NME, Pitchfork, Stereogum, and the New York Times.
In further praise, Weyes Blood was also named as one of the “20 Best Singers of This Century” by Sunday Times Culture.
The ten tracks on And in the Darkness, Hearts Aglow were written by Weyes Blood – real name Natalie Mering – herself, with production provided by Mering alongside Jonathan Rado. The likes of Hand Habits’ Meg Duffy and Mary Lattimore featured as guests on the album.
