With the Sailor Jerry Rolling Stone Australia Awards set to return for its second year in 2022, this week sees the polls open for the prestigious Rolling Stone Readers’ Choice Award, with subscribers being given a chance to have their say on the nominated artists until February 28th.
Beginning from today – Monday, January 17th – and running until Monday, February 28th, all subscribers of Rolling Stone Australia will have the chance to vote on the artists nominated for the Rolling Stone Readers’ Choice Award.
This year sees a huge array of stunning artists in the running for the award, including the likes of Jimmy Barnes, Keith Urban, and Vika & Linda. Meanwhile, names such as CXLOE, Gordie, and Holy Holy also complement the list of nominations, as do chart-topping names such as Paul Kelly and RÜFÜS DU SOL.
Only subscribers to Rolling Stone Australia are eligible to vote, meaning that if you’re not yet a subscriber and want to have your say, now’s the time to pick up a subscription. To sweeten the deal, subscribers who either nominate or vote in the first and second round respectively will go in the running to win four tickets to attend the awards in March.
As announced last week, the 2022 edition of The Rolling Stone Australia Awards features some massive nominees, including the likes of Amy Shark, The Avalanches, Baker Boy, and Genesis Owusu who are all up for the Best Record award.
The awards will also be preceded by a free live event series which will spearhead the return of live music in the lead up to the event this March. The Sailor Jerry Road to Rolling Stone Australia Awards will visit Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane at the sticky-floored band rooms that punters have missed so dearly.
Setting the stage for next year’s Sailor Jerry Rolling Stone Australia Awards, the series will see some of the country’s most exciting, hardworking bands taking to the stage for the first time in months – effectively heralding the long-awaited return of live music.
Last year saw the premiere of the awards, with the highly-anticipated first edition of the event seeing artists recognised across five categories, including Best Record, Best Single, Best New Artist, the Rolling Stone Global Award, and the Rolling Stone Readers’ Choice Award.
Some of the biggest artists and bands were up for nomination at the inaugural awards, with the likes of Tash Sultana, Tame Impala, and Midnight Oil all serving as big winners on the night. Check out the full list of 2022 nominees below.
