Two months after they were first supposed to hit the road, Melbourne’s Tropical Fuck Storm have today unveiled a round of rescheduled tour dates in support of their latest album, Deep States.
Released back in August, the group’s third album, Deep States, was originally planned to be accompanied by a number of national tour dates, including a special launch show at Melbourne’s Forum Theatre. Unfortunately, increasing uncertainty regarding COVID-related restrictions saw the tour postponed, with the group unable to give the album the proper debut it deserves.
Speaking to Rolling Stone Australia alongside the album’s release, frontman Gareth Liddiard shared his frustration, but ultimate resignation to the events of the last 18 months, simply noting, “It’s a fucking disaster, but shit happens.”
Now, with the country slowly opening up, Tropical Fuck Storm have announced a new run of dates, with the group set to hit the road once again in January of 2022.
“We can’t wait to be back in the lounge sipping champas, listening out for the sweet sounds of that final boarding call coming through the speakers once more!” the band said in an accompanying statement.
Joining Tropical Fuck Storm on the tour is the previously-announced former Californian, now-Melbournian multi-instrumentalist Michael Beach, who is set to bring his sonic existential dread to crowds around the country.
