More than four months on from the release of their critically-acclaimed debut album Panic Force, Sydney’s Triple One are finally hitting the road for a national tour, announcing a run of dates today.
Kicking off in just under a month, the five-date tour will see the outfit traversing the country with shows in Brisbane, Sydney, Perth, and Adelaide, before wrapping things up with a show in Melbourne on May 22nd.
Their first headline tour in two years, Triple One had initially planned to head out in May of 2020 for their “Handyman” tour, only for border closures and COVID-related restrictions to necessitate the cancellation of the shows. Since then, a small number of one-off gigs have taken place, with eager fans waiting to receive the chance to catch the genre-bending outfit on stage once again.
In addition to news of the tour, Triple One have also shared the video for their latest single, “Skinless Man”, a track which Obi Ill Terrors explained was an example of the group’s desire to keep pushing musical boundaries.
“I feel like we’re constantly pushing or trying to experiment, or just trying to push and push and push to make it as obscure as possible, but still palatable for people,” he told Rolling Stone last year. “We’ve got a song on [Panic Force] that sounds like a Britpop song – a proper Britpop song – and if people can accept us making that sort of music, then I think we’ve kind of done our job, or done what we came to do, which is bend some genres and freak some people out.”
