Travis frontman Fran Healy knows a thing or two about Oasis — and he thinks they’re playing better than ever on their reunion tour.

Travis are returning to Australia for the first time in 24 long years. Next January, the legendary Scottish band will perform on these shores for the first time since their sold-out 2001 tour.

The BRIT Award-winning band are touring to celebrate their classic album, The Man Who, which was well-received in Australia, reaching platinum status and selling over 110,000 copies.

At their upcoming shows in Fremantle, Melbourne, Adelaide, Sydney, and Brisbane, Travis will perform The Man Who in full alongside other fan favourites from their lengthy career.

Before Travis arrive in Australia, their old touring mates, Oasis, will complete their own Aussie tour, which kicks off tonight (October 31st) in Melbourne.

In an in-depth Rolling Stone AU/NZ interview, Travis frontman Fran Healy discussed Oasis’ comeback.

I met Noel in New York and I met the rest of them in New York as well. I didn’t see Bonehead until they played in LA a few days later,” he recalled, adding that they feel “no pressure.”

“Like, of course not. I mean, there is no better position to be in than a band who has, like, 18 massive songs or 20 massive songs. And they could literally do it with their hands tied behind their back… It’s like being on the best holiday ever. And they’ve got their families on the road, and they’re just having a ball.”

Healy praised the Gallagher brothers’ approach to their reunion tour.

“Liam’s singing better than he has ever sung. I think that’s the big difference… Liam’s almost like being an athlete about it. He’s not smoking, he’s not drinking. He comes in just before the show and leaves right after it. And doesn’t get hammered or whatever. Noel’s having a blast. They’re playing great,” he said.

A top 10 hit in Australia, The Man Who featured beloved tracks such as “Driftwood”, “Turn”, and “Why Does It Always Rain on Me?”.
