The secret is out: Tones and I will perform tonight, Wednesday, October 16th at LLA x UNIFIED Music Group’s takeover of Rolling Stone House.
The global pop superstar will deliver an intimate acoustic set at UTS Underground, for the opening night of Rolling Stone AU/NZ’s residency at SXSW Sydney.
Tones needs no introduction. A multiple ARIA Award winner, the singer-songwriter’s breakthrough smash “Dance Monkey” crushed records for fun.
Along the way, the track hit #1 on more than 30 national charts. In Australia, the single reigned over the ARIA Chart for 24 total weeks, an all-time record, and in the UK it led the way for 11 weeks, a record for a solo female artist.
This year has seen Tones lift the bar even higher. She opened on Pink for the US pop legend’s groundbreaking, 20-stadium tour of Australia, and Tones’ second and most recent album, Beautifully Ordinary, debuted at #1 on the ARIA Chart (with zero marketing spend).
That was the follow-up to 2021’s Welcome to the Madhouse, which also opened at #1. And, earlier in 2024, “Dance Monkey” passed 3 billion streams on Spotify.
Tones and I is booked by LLA, which is bringing her to Rolling Stone House for the one-off performance, and managed by Lemon Tree Music globally.
In addition to Tones and I, tonight’s independent music feast will feature Hockey Dad, The Grogans, Full Flower Moon Band, and Teen Jesus and the Jean Teasers (DJ set).
Further performances will take place on Thursday evening with headliner Voice of Baceprot, and on Friday with 9lives leading the charge.
SXSW Sydney badge holders will have priority access to Rolling Stone House, which opens its doors from October 16th-18th, in partnership with American Apparel, Cholula and Vinyl.com.
