It’s already one of the biggest Aussie singles of all time, but now Tones And I has another reason to be dancing, with “Dance Monkey” reaching the one billion view mark on YouTube.

Since its release back in May of 2019, “Dance Monkey” has transformed Tones And I from a busker on the streets of Byron Bay to a chart-topping superstar, travelling the world with her musical talent.

In addition to breaking records in Australia as the longest-running #1 atop the ARIA chart, the track has topped the charts around the world, and back in February was honoured as the latest track to join APRA AMCOS’ 1,000,000,000 List with a total of a billion streams.

Now, just weeks after the track took out the International Songwriting Competition, Tones And I has ticked off another milestone, with “Dance Monkey” reaching a massive billion views on YouTube.

Achieving the feat overnight, Tones And I joins the likes of Gotye and Sia as Aussies who have managed to pull off such a milestone.

As Billboard notes, Tones And I responded to the news by thanking her fans for watching the clip, and expressing her disbelief at having reached such a massive number of views.
