In a year when cancellations and postponements have become the norm, the announcement of a new tour seems almost unheard of. However, Tina Arena has provided good news, announcing an eight-date tour of the country for May of 2021.
Announced this morning, her ‘Enchanté: The Songs Of Tina Arena’ tour will see the ARIA Hall of Famer performing cuts from her acclaimed discography all across the country, backed by her band and a string quartet at all shows, while the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra will perform at her Sidney Myer Music Bowl performance. Meanwhile, renowned composer, violinist, and dancer Eric Avery will serve as a special guest on the tour.
“2020 has been such a challenging year for us all in so many ways with the music, arts and entertainment sectors suffering,” Arena explained of her decision to look ahead and announce the new tour dates.
“It’s really important for us all to have something to look forward to and return to doing the things we cherish the most as much as possible. Performing is my lifeblood – it’s all I’ve ever wanted to do! – and I can’t wait to be back on stage singing and connecting with my fans through the power of music.
“My art is all about sharing and when I’m giving it my all, the band’s locked in and the audience is responsive – there’s no greater feeling in the world! It’s a special kind of energy exchange; the whole atmosphere seems to shift. Just thinking about it now, I miss performing so much! It actually feeds my soul. I am also pretty excited to have a reason to glam-up again, to be honest.”
The ‘Enchanté’ tour will begin on Sunday, May 2nd with a performance at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre before making its way through Sydney, the Gold Coast, Adelaide, Melbourne, Perth, and Wollongong, before wrapping up in Canberra on May 29th.
Tickets to the tour go on sale from 10am local time on Monday, November 16th, with a Telstra Plus presale begins at 10am local time on Wednesday, November 13th, and runs for 48 hours.
